Day 7 reading: Romans 15:7-13
“Welcome one another, then, just as Christ welcomed you, in order to bring praise to God. For I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the Jews on behalf of God’s truth, so that the promises made to the patriarchs might be confirmed and, moreover, that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy.” (Romans 15:7 -NRSV)
A Prayer:
Lord Jesus Christ, this Advent we seek to welcome you afresh in our lives. We remember that the shepherds and the Magi welcomed you at your first coming and we desire to welcome you in our lives today even as we anticipate your second coming. We open our hearts to you again and say ‘Come in Lord Jesus’.
God we also recognize that you have welcomed us and accepted us into your family. You have been so gracious to us and we hear your call that we should accept and welcome others around us. Help us to truly see the people that you bring across our path, to welcome them with our words and actions and be gracious to them as you have been gracious to us.
We pray that out of the riches of your grace, you would strengthen us to make people feel welcome, through listening, speaking, inviting and sharing. May the true warmth of the Presence of Jesus be expressed through us to others this Advent season and may this bring praise to your name, O Lord.
We offer this prayer through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever, Amen.

Beautiful words today of welcome. Africans know how to welcome and invite people; it's in the nature, culture and history.
To be welcomed by God and pour that out to others. Thank you.
