The Light Has Come

A few quick notes as we step into Advent...

“The people walking in darkness have seen a great light;
on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned.” -Isaiah 9:2

This past Sunday was the first Sunday of Advent and tomorrow (Dec. 1) will be the start of our Advent devotional series, Embracing Hope. I am very excited about it and hope you are as well!

In many church services during Advent there is the tradition of lighting a candle, along with various Scripture readings. The candle represents Jesus as the light of life, coming into the world. As more candles are lit each week, so our anticipation of Jesus builds throughout the Advent season.

As we begin our series tomorrow, I wanted to mention a few quick things:

• Each day you will receive the devotional in your in-box

• All the posts for the Embracing Hope series will also be available my substack page, The Hidden Reservoir, as an archive.

• I encourage you to use the ‘Comments section’ at the bottom of a post, if something impacts you. I will do my best to respond!
