A Prayer:
Our Father in heaven, forgive us for our hurried, frenetic lives. We are a distracted people and often do not pause enough to reflect on what you are doing in our hearts and minds. Thank you that even when we are too busy to notice, you are faithful in our lives and you do not give up on us.
Our minds are full of lists and projects and the worries of life seem all around us. We ask that you would calm our racing minds and anxious hearts. Come to our busy day with the peace that you promise and may we find the rest that our souls long for.
In these days of Advent, help us to sense your presence and your work within our lives. Open our eyes and ears and awaken our hearts toward the ‘inner movements’ of your Spirit in us, the impressions and promptings that come to us throughout the day. May we see what you see and feel what you feel, as we follow your leading today.
We pray this through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
