“Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!” -Luke 1:45 (NIV)
A Prayer:
Father God, today we thank you for Mary and the indescribable privilege you gave to her of being the mother of Jesus, and caring and nurturing Him as a helpless infant. Thank you for the example of Mary with her faith in the extraordinary promises you spoke over her life.
We confess that often we struggle to believe in the promises you have made to us in your Word. We identify with the father who said, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief”, and we pray today for a strengthening of our faith.
We pray that this season of Advent we may know more deeply your promised Presence with us through the Holy Spirit, along with the joy and peace that you desire us to experience.
Give to us your grace that we would believe in your promise that you are indeed continuing to work in us and through us according to your plans and purposes. Today we say ‘YES’ to all that you are doing in us.
We also pray for those relatives and friends who are far from you, who we have been praying for, asking that their hearts would become open to the message of Jesus. Help us to continue to pray with faith for them and their salvation, for you have said that you do not wish anyone to be lost but for all to be saved.
We offer this prayer through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever, Amen.

I couple this verse with Luke 1:38: "Let it be done to me according to your word." Father, Your will for me is so much better than any plan I could ever have. Your will is perfect, pleasing, and acceptable. What comfort!
