“These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God’s creation.
Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.”
-Rev. 3:14 & 20
A Prayer:
Lord Jesus, we worship you as the one who is faithful and true in every way. You are the perfect witness of the inner workings of our hearts and minds, who understands clearly the motives of our words and actions.
Thank you that you are always loving toward us and desiring to speak to us, so as to lead us into your truth and wholeness. We pray for our spiritual ears to be open to your voice and for our hearts to be responsive to your stirrings. We confess that we are often quick to defend ourselves and justify our actions, but today we humbly receive all that you would say to us. Lead us in the way that is everlasting.
Where we have been blind concerning our own ways, we ask you to touch our eyes and help us to see.
Where we have been blind concerning the hurt and suffering of those around us, we ask you to touch our eyes and help us to see.
Give us your grace to daily open our lives to you and invite you in and enjoy the richness of your presence with us.
Even so Lord Jesus, come.
Amen.
